Film poster mock ups...

I created three mock ups to see how i should lay out my poster to see what would be the best possible layout for my poster.

The title is at the top of the poster as this will make the title stand out and will be the first thing that people will be drawn to.
The image is in the middle of the page as it is the main focal point on the magazine this will also attract the audience with the actors as they will be on the front page.

The release date of the film on the right hand side as this makes it stand out which will stand out in the audiences mind so that they know when the film is coming out so that they can prebook tickets.

The actors names will be at the bottom of the screen if they are actors that are not well known as they will not detract from the poster.
The production info is at the bottom of the page as it is the least important information all of the small print is at the bottom of the page because not many people will read all of the small print.

The title is at the top of the poster as this will make the title stand out and will be the first thing that people will be drawn to it.
The actors are on the top of the page because they may be well known actors as this would be a selling point for the film.

The release date for the film is on the left hand side as this will be what people are drawn to so it will be a Major thing on poster as people will then remember it so they will be more likely to go to the film.

The image is on the left hand side as it is not the main point on the page as the release date will stick in the audiences mind
The production info is at the bottom of the page as it is the least important information all of the small print is at the bottom of the page because not many people will read all of the small print.

The actors names will be at the bottom of the screen if they are actors that are not well known as they will not detract from the poster.
The production info is at the bottom of the page as it is the least important information all of the small print is at the bottom of the page because not many people will read all of the small print.
The image is the main thing in the poster as the actors and the picture will give an incite into the movie

The Title is under the picture as the picture is the most important part of the message.

The actors names will be at the bottom of the screen if they are actors that are not well known as they will not detract from the poster.
The production info is at the bottom of the page as it is the least important information all of the small print is at the bottom of the page because not many people will read all of the small print.

Representation in our trailer

The females is this trailer are presented as week and vulnerable which could link in with the stereotypical view of how females are represented in films such as when they are represented as needed rescuing which we have prorated in our teaser trailer. We have chosen to do this as it enables our target audience to relate to the main protagonist as some girls that age do feel vulnerable which they will then link to the main character. The other female is taking her best friends boyfriend from her so she shown as backstabbing and "bitchy" which some people have a view that female can be like that.

In our Trailer there is not a difference is class shown within the trailer most of the actors shown would represent is middle class as of the clothes and the location such as the house as this is the target audience that we are aiming for and that are a middle class as they having the money to spend on luxury products such as going to the cinema and buying DVD's.

Age is represented in trailer with all of the shots being our teenagers shows many different aspects of teenage life. It shows is the film how the males can  be inconsiderate but then the male who is the best friend it shows a caring and a loving side to the male which will make the female audience enjoy the film more as they will want to see how the male behaves.  The females one is shown as being quite backstabbing and sneaky which female may have come across which would allow them to relate to them. Also it shows the girl being rational and confused which the target audience will be able to relate to but will also be able to learn something from our Teaser Trailer.

Narrative stages of our teaser trailer!

The first thing that is shown in the teaser trailer is the happy scenes at the start with the best friend and the girl hugging which shows that they have a relationship but are not Boyfriend and Girlfriend, we have shown these because we wanted to show how Chloe's life was perfect before.
We then flash to show Chloe sat on the floor which shows the distribution in her life which will create many questions within the audiences brain and they will want to know why her life has been disrupted.

We then see shots of the distribution which shows in depth some of the things that have happened to see how the distribution will effect the Chloe but in the clips we do not give to much away so it still creates questions in the audiences head.

Through out the flash backs we show parts of the girl sitting in the bathroom as it is meant to show the girls still distraught and confused and with the flashbacks are showing her thought processes that the girl is going through.

When the girl rings of the phone it is showing that she is reaching out for someone but the audience are then left with a bigger cliffhanger with the two male characters both answering the phone and saying hello as then the audience do not know which one the girl has rung so they will want to watch the film.

Questionnaire Analysis

Questionnaire Analysis

We conducted a questionnaire to find out what our focus group thought of our rough draft of LOVEDRUG!
The questionnaire was compiled as to get an in depth look at the trailer and so we can see what areas we need to improve. The focus group consisted of 10 people from our target audience as this would help us know what we need to improve to make sure that our trailer appeals to our target audience.

Question 1. The response to the question is that all of the respondents thought that the genre of the film portrayed a Romance genre which is pleasing as this was the genre that we were aiming for.

Question 2. The response to question 2 is that the majority voted that there were about the right amount of clips in the trailer with 7 choosing about right. Two people chose that there were too many clips and we will take this in to consideration while doing the final edits to our film. 1 person chose that there were not enough clips in the trailer which we will look at when we are in the final editing.

Question 3. From question three we took into consideration what the focus group thought would be the best to get rid of clips throughout the teaser trailer as people said that there were too many clips we have chosen to take out the scene where our main character is sat at the table as the relevance in the trailer isn't shown directly and it gave away from intensity that we were trying to create

Question 4. One of the directions that people gave us feed back on was to add in more happy scenes as at the moment there is a lot of emphasis on the distress in these scenes. We are taking this into account and thinking about re filming some of our scenes and we are having a meeting to discuss what we can add in.

Question 5.  When we asked our target audience they said that they thought bar one person that we had used correct lighting to reflect the mood that we were trying to portray in the trailer.

Question 6. 8 people stated that after they had watched the teaser trailer they would like to watch the movie which is a good result but we are trying to aim to get all of the focus group to want to watch the trailer so that the movie has a large audience so that it will appeal to all of our target audience.

Question 7. One person advise was to add more of a cliff hanger to give more of a powerful ending so we are going to re film the ending to make sure it is powerful enough

Question 8. The least favourite scenes in the trailer were the phones buzzing at the end and when the main character gets stood up to fix this we have got rid of the scene of our main character getting stood up and also we are re filming the phone scenes to hopefully improve our teaser trailer.

Question 9. Everyone in our focus group thought that we have used a wide range of camera shots and angle which is what we tried to create as it shows different moods.

Question 10. 6 people said that they felt they could relate to the character in the trailer and that it was the main character that they could relate to which is good as people will feel as if they are in the film.

Question 11. We asked people to rate our teaser trailer from 1 - 5 with 5 being the highest
Four people gave it a 3, Four people also gave a 4 and two people gave our film a 5 which is really pleasing as it shows that people do like our teaser trailer

Questionnaire on editing

We constructed this questionnaire to show a focus group of our rough cut of our teaser trailer so that we can then see what needs improving and then create a improvement action plan according to what our target audience want the advantage of this is that we are asking directly to what our target audience want and think we should improve.
